Places and people around me have changed in response to events, but my “normal” life did not change significantly. The benefit of being more isolated, mostly introverted, and less involved with the drama of reactivity to events has resulted in more time to do what I love, less stress, greater peace of mind. I have made new connections, and have realized plenty of opportunity to expand my horizons. Above all, I have focused on the practice of compassion for those who are suffering through their experience of this period of time and who have had losses of loved ones, jobs, and freedoms. Mostly due to that “less reactive” involvement, my life, if anything … has improved. I guess this is my current “new normal.” I don’t want to go “back” … forward is all I know.
